You'll have to bring proof of identity, like a DNA test or sworn statements from people who know you.

Had a friend who registered as Alex but his drivers license said Alexander. They didn't let him in.

You're going to have to fax LSAC a request to change your name on your account, then print out a new ticket

They definitely won't let you sit if the names don't match

IIRC this is a pretty simple process.

Make sure they're the same thing. My buddy had Sam as opposed to Samuel and they wouldn't let him in.

Considering how easy it would be to cheat the LSAT yes, they are.

No sane person is going to think Michael Your Last Name and Mike Your Last Name are two different people. When I took the LSAT I had a drivers license with the full version of my name on it which was different than the name printed on my ticket. It also had a picture of me that was like 10 years old and looked nothing like me. Nobody batted an eye.
I almost didn't get to take my test the first time because the proctor didn't think that I was actually me.

They barely glanced at my ID. They were too busy chatting amongst themselves.

I have two middle names but LSAC will only let you put one on your account. The proctor made me wait outside while everyone else checked in then took me to the test center supervisor because my ID (license and passport) had two initials and my ticket only had one. Nerve-wracking.

The bottom line on this is that its not a crazy thing for the proctors to be concerned about and it should be LSACs responsibility to declare the rule for this type of contingency. Individual proctors should not have to make on the spot decisions and test takers should not be left guessing.

I would imagine that LSAC has a clear stated policy on this. If they do not then they should.
