Get 8 LORs in, then I decide which to send afterwards? Forum

Greetings! I am a long-time lurker and first-time poster on TLS.

Here's my question: Can I do this?

I want to ask around 8 professors for a letter of recommendation. Let's call the professors/LORs A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H.

On the basis of the "vibe" I get from each one of them, I then want to decide which school gets which LOR.

For example, after all is said and done, my gut feeling tells me A, B, and C will be the best LORs and the recommenders tell me that their LORs are very positive. My gut tells me D, E, and F might be very very good or just mediocre. I just can't get a complete read. G and H never turn in the LOR.

After all the LORs are in, less G and H, I decide as follows: Send A, B, and C to schools 1, 2, 3, and 4. A, B, and D/E/F to schools 5, 6, and 7.

Can this be done? That is to say, can I just have letters mailed in to LSAC, and after the fact, choose who gets which LOR? Or must I predetermine which LOR will go to each school?

You can do that^^. When you submit your app, you chose which LORs should be transmitted to the school along with your app.

LOL, thanks! Game set-up wasn't on purpose, but I admit, on average, all I do is think about logic games (weakest section).
