Worth it to transfer to Fordham?
So I was on the Fordham website just to see what their transfer process is, and I found out that you can't even participate in the Early Interview Week, which is when the "big" law firms come. The first interviews you would be allowed to go on would be in September. So at least from a career prospects wise perspective, would it even be worth it to transfer to Fordham if I can't even interview with the type of firms I want (biglaw, V100 firms)?

Honestly, we need more information.
Such as:
1. What does the school means when they say "big" law firms? I'm sure not all of them come that early.
2. What school do you currently attend?
3. What is your rank?
4. Where do you want to work?
For example if you wanted to work in a big firm in NYC and were top 10% Hofstra/Syracuse on up (Brooklyn, Cardozo), you should stay.

Hi, AP.awesomepossum wrote:IBOS.
To answer: I actually talked to my school about this on behalf of another student, and here is my recommendation: talk to our career services office, and tell them specifically which firms you are interested in. They should know when every registered employer is coming, and they can give you a better answer than we can. Fordham has eight weeks of OCI, so there are a ton of employers coming after EIW in August, but it makes sense to OCI at a school (yours, or another) that will get you access to the jobs you want. IMO this is a reasonable thing to ask about before deciding to transfer. If your rank is high enough, you might actually be better off asking your current school for more money, provided top firms interview there. Every approach has trade offs. It's well known that I love my school, but I would never advise someone not to do his or her due diligence before making a decision like this.
Good luck!

Where would you be transferring from? (Generally, transferring is almost never worth it, save for people at T3s transferring into the T14 or lateral transfers across lower-tiered schools to get into the region in which you want to practice. A top rank at a lower-tier school is better than median at a non-T14.)

Lets say it's a lower end T2.
