Senioritis
So, I've gotten into two schools which were my "realistic goal" of getting into. The decision is tough enough, I'm doubled down right now, and we wont get into that....
But, I just finished up with finals and let me say now.... Senioritis is killing me.
I've gotten 3 of 5 grades back, and I'm at a 3.4 GPA.
That's like a full .5 lower than my undergraduate average.
This could be my fault for taking hard 400 levels my last semester, but it is still kind of laughable. I dont suspect either school will care, so long as I'm not failing anything...
Is anyone else having a hard time giving a shit about UG anymore? I'm not even going to my own graduation because due to a technicality I can't walk until next novemeber!

Yea, I have a 3.6 and this semster I'm expecting about a 3.0
I don't do shit anymore and im only taking 4 classes. Why should I care if my grades dont matter?
I just cant imagine going back to actually working hard again. Law school is scaring me.

almost the same boat. I don't care anymore, but I still find myself working somewhat hard..kinda like an ingrained trait at this point..just like visiting TLS for no reason whatsoever...

Haha, it's pretty much what the educational system up to this point is designed to do.gwuorbust wrote:almost the same boat. I don't care anymore, but I still find myself working somewhat hard..kinda like an ingrained trait at this point..just like visiting TLS for no reason whatsoever...

Re: Senioritis
+1 to the tread
I'm only taking 4 courses including a general bio class as a pass/fail which I may be failing currently. Seriously? I don't give two shits about bio but I'm just venting. Oh well, I guess I'm gonna have to try and sweet talk my teacher

Same. I have a 3.6 and I am probably looking at between a 2.5 - 3.0 this semester.

I am trying to mentally prepare for getting my ass kicked this semester in the form of a 2.1-2.2. I think there is only like a 10% chance this happens, but it would still make me feel pretty sad about it ;(

What makes it worse is this question from all the freshman and sophomores I work with on campus: "Are you excited for graduation?" I'm like, "Uh... not really. I have the 3 most difficult years of my life to look forward to..."

+1- but parents would pretty much kill me. Re: Senioritis
I had my last class tonight. I am expecting a 4.0 out of 24 credits this semester.
It took me 15 years to get to this graduation. I suspect it means more to me than most of my peers, perhaps more than it ever would. I am going to graduation. Plus my whole family.

Re: Senioritis
4.0 with 24 credits? you disturb me.
My graduation has been a long time coming, too, and I'm pretty excited to be done, but the three-hour watch-people-walk-on-stage crap isn't all that appealing. I'm going, though, I can't recall why at the moment...
I had some senioritis, too...and got really paranoid that I would get like a 2.5 (my current gpa is 3.9). I even emailed the law school to ask, hypothetically, if they ever pull scholarships and I'm taking their lack of a response to mean it was a dumb question. Now, though, I think I'll get a 3.5 or so, which will bring down my GPA, but not that badly. I'm not even taken hard classes, I just don't get along with the professors this time around...probably would have dropped two of them if I didn't need them to graduate.

Re: Senioritis
Disturbs? lol I just work really hard. I have been going to bed like 3-4am for the last year, trying to do everything and still work and spend time with my family. Now I can finally relax for a bit. So my senoritis starts today (since classes are overtwopoodles wrote:4.0 with 24 credits? you disturb me.

I only took 1 class with a professor I didn't know, and I made sure that my other profs recommended him.
After finals next week I am going to party for a whole weekend! Then back to more school and work. (starting graduate classes in the summer)

Re: Senioritis
I'm feeling the senioritis myself, it's crazy because my buddy told me that for dental school he has to send in his final transcripts with all eight semesters and that his offer of admission is only 100% if his GPA is comparable to the cumulative he applied with, how nuts is that. I'm glad law school is like: "you're in", and can't pull the rug out from under you in the summer, that would blow.

Re: Senioritis
One paper and two exams left in UG. Problem: I have professors that love me in the two classes I care about, so I'm convinced that they'll give me a good grade no matter what, and the other exam is in a freaking bio class that I'm only taking for a requirement and in which I currently have an A+. With a HLS acceptance in the bag, I have no idea how I'm supposed to muster the energy to study.

Re: Senioritis
One exam between me and graduation. Should be easy. I was kind of worried I'd bomb this semester, but everything's been fine so far.
I'm actually excited for the ceremony too, even though it's too early in the morning for my tastes. First in my immediate family and of the close relatives on my dad's side to graduate from college.

All 3 years of college for me have been one long extended bout of senioritis. Graduating in a week and a half with a 3.47 LSDAS or thereabouts.
