who else is excited beyond belief for LS
who else is pumped for August and why? I know there are other threads like these but it's always nice to hear some fresh thoughts.

How about frightened and worried? I am excited to be going but I turned down full scholarships to go to a school I'll be paying for.
I am excited to get started and put myself in a place where I can improve myself.

I'm jealous of you guys starting in 2010 and wish I didn't have to wait another year! Really looking forward to getting a fresh start in a new place and meeting some interesting people. Hopefully I'll still be as excited a year from now.

Scared and hopeful. I'm worried about a new city and a new set of challenges. Unlike the poster I chose a full ride over a higher ranked school so I'm nervous for the opposite reason (no debt, but then maybe no job or not as good a job).

I was just taking a walk today and I was just thinking "wow, I can't believe you are actually doing it!!! You are going to learn law and become a lawyer!!!" I wanted to do one of clicking my heels together and scream yippie!!

Me. I'll admit it, I'm a huge geek. Had a dream last night that I looked at the fine print of my admissions offer and it was actually a June start. I guess I'm ready to go!

I get those excited, new-thing type dreams where something's distorted at the new place (LS in this case) but like the vibe is good and you are just so happy to be starting this new thing. Anybody else get that?

you don't understand what i'm doing now. like it's god awful. and the worst part is i just have to sit there from 9-5, regardless of how long the thing takes to do. i would study anything if it meant i could only be required to be somewhere from like 10-1 and i can do my hours of work where and whenever I want.badfish wrote:lol, you guys will feel different this time next year.

I taught school and enjoyed it but knew it wasn't for me. But I was a receptionist from 9-5 and so bored I wanted to gouge out my own eyes just to get away. I would rather be challenged for 80 hours than bored for 40.pugalicious wrote:Amen. I hate my current job. I teach high school. I am excited but super scared. I like my job most days now, but want a challenge. I'm worried I will miss my job. Then I have a day like today with a mandatory PT test in the wind...and I am so ready to leave!!!

yeah you 1L's or are straight out of undergrad don't get it. oh you're stressed oh finals period is tough well look 1. the school year only lasts so many months and 2. at least your mind is engaged and 3. you might have a lot of work to do but there is something to be said for being able to do it whenever you want as opposed to having to sit somewhere from 9-5

12 years of working as a registered nurse and I am burned out. I can't wait to go to school again. No more 12 hour night shifts. No shit. No more listening to old people complain about every ache and illness they've ever had.
Damn it is going to be refreshing to have some intellectual stimulation and to hang around with people who are ambitious and competitive like me.
