Hi,
I am writing thank you letters to the people who wrote me letters of recommendation. Is it tacky or arrogant to list which schools I was accepted into? I want to let them know how their letter impacted my cycle.

Yes, just tell them the school you are going to.

I mentioned a couple of my top acceptances. It's not tacky. They helped you get in; you're letting them know it was successful.

My recommenders said they really want to know where I go in the fall. Maybe just say where you are going, it's not really necessary to list all the schools, but not tacky if you do. You don't need to say where you didn't get in though.

I think you can list just a few of the top ones. If someone takes the time to recommend you, they care about your academic career and will be glad to know that their letter helped you in your efforts. I wouldn't list 20 schools or anything, but a simple, "Your recommendation played an important part in my admission to X, Y, and Z, among other schools, and I am proud to be attending Y in the fall." Not necessarily in those words, but you get the idea. I don't see it as tacky or bragging, I view it moreso as letting the recommender know that your applications were successful and that you are very grateful for their support.
