Just wondering, why are people voting Boston?

If you want to practice in Washington, go to Washington.

How much money BU is offering doesn't really matter, you should be looking at your total cost. Including cost of living, you are looking at about 100k for BU with the scholarship vs. 120k for UW, pretty negligible difference. Both schools are relatively regional, but pretty well respected nationally, you should go to UW if you want to practice in the PNW, or anywhere in the West really, it shouldn't even be a debate. If you were completely neutral about where you want to end up, then maybe you would have a tough decision, but even then, UW has the advantage of being by far the best school in its immediate region and one of the best on the West coast, where as BU is competing with many higher and similarly regarded schools in its region (admittedly a larger market, but still).

Why in the hell are people voting for BU?

This isn't even close IMO, if you want to work in Washington, going to BU makes 0 sense.

Wow, a dead heat.

UW just offered me 10k a year, and will most likely be receiving an additional 6k in grants (need to call the general UW financial aid office tomorrow), so that will likely mean ~50k at UW+ in-state tuition. Going into the negotiation I told myself I would sign for 15k a year, so unless there is a mixup with the financial aid office, I'll be headed to UW next year.

Wow, congrats on the scholarship. That sure makes your decision easy. How were you informed about it? I don't have high hopes for any scholarship money myself, but I do think I have a good shot at need based grants.
