If you want to improve the discourse at said law schools, why the racial epithet? One T1 school in particular, I met a bunch of guido 2L kids cracking blowjob jokes in the hallway.

Daytukrjabs wrote:[strike]I am one of those average applicants who started out with a 144 diagnostics on the LSAT. Upon rejections after rejections last year (0 for 7, no WL), I gathered myself and improved my study habits to finally earn my 95% mark on the September LSAT 09. My cycle this year is a lot different (7 ins, a few WL, 2 dings, and 4 pending). I had the privilege of attending a few T14 and T1 ASDs.
I met some very interesting people (scientists, patent holders, moms and dads etc). However, I also met an overwhelming percentage of young, tunnel visioned admits who could not stop yapping about how many higher ranked T14s they got into, and that they had no intention of enrolling, but came to ASD just for kicks. I thought to myself "Really? You know you won't attend but you came anyway so you can tell a whole bunch of strangers how well your cycle is going?" They were exceptionally intelligent and bright people academically, but I couldn't get past their arrogance and self-aggrandizing attitudes. One T1 school in particular, I met a bunch of guido 2L kids cracking blowjob jokes in the hallway. I didn't know guidos existed in law schools, but I was extremely turned off of that particular school, and I feel that I have the right to, since they were representing their institution.
I also realized that in contrary to what most admissions officers say, they do not care about us aside from the numbers we provide. They really don't. My current app is identical to last year's, except the higher LSAT score. I also realized that last year's various Q&A event with Law Adcom panel was nothing but finger banging students with a load of P.I programs and how their school considers soft-factors as much as the GPA/LSAT.
I think that most of us on TLS have the motivation and intelligence to do fine at any law school. We also have the privileges of attending top schools in the nation. But let's really try to make the next 3 years a bit more enjoyable. My plea is really directed towards the d-bags mentioned above, but d-bags don't know that they're d-bags, so I guess it's a moot point. I really hope that we can show some more grace for one another in such ranking-prestige oriented profession we're about to enter. The law institution and its culture will make it unpleasant for us already. I hope I can study with classmates who can empathize.

To say you meant Guido without any connotation of race implies that you don't understand the meaning of the insult.
Guido (English pronunciation: /ˈɡwiːdoʊ/) is a slang term for a working class or lower class urban Italian American.

guido
A sad pathetic excuse for a male; not necessarily of Italian descent, but most likely; usually native to the New York/New Jersey Tri-State area.
WARDROBE: tight zipper shirts, tracksuits, designer jeans, fuzzy kangol hats, tiny hoop earrings, fake gold chains, and related Euro-trash garb and tacky cheese-wear.
NATURAL HABITAT: Known to frequent Tri-State area malls looking for club gear to waste their week's pay on (most likely spotted shopping at "Bang Bang" in Staten Island). During the day when not at their food delivery, telemarketting, or construction job, can be located at their local gym tanning or lifting weights. Can be found nightly at mainstream danceclubs they read about online (SF, Webster Hall, Etc.). Most notable for cruising the Jersey shore in an old car (Honda, Mustang, etc.) which has been tinted, painted and sports $1,000-$3,000 rims in a feeble attempt to look like new. Guido cars usually have a boomin' system through which cheesy music like freestyle, commercial club/trance and hip-hop (anything KTU plays) is loudly blasted.
GENETIC LINKS: Directly related to modern day urban-guidos, A.K.A. "wiggers," A.K.A. "wegros;" urban-guidos are white males who once exhibited the traits referenced above, but have now instead opted to keep it unreal, with wardrobes consisting of clothes from labels like FUBU and Rocawear which they bought on sale at Macy's. These individuals still listen to the same music and drive the same type of car as their predece...

Re: Dear class of 2013: A little more grace
I think the term guido has taken on a different meaning than the classical dictionary meaning (a big lol at whoever used the dictionary to define a term like guido anyway) and you guys should get off the OP's back. Language is constantly changing and such, it's what makes it a current language. Pretty sure that's an RC passage on the lsat. Man I need to stop studying.
Anyway, I think he's got a point. I really don't want some spiky headed spray-tanned idiots cracking blowjob jokes wherever I go to law school. In fact, I want them as far away as possible from my law school experience.

I don't mean to detract from your sentiment though; I'm sure any law school has both students of great substance and those of none.

A guy walks into the bar and orders 9 shots of tequilia. So the bartender pours nine shots and the man downs one after the other.
"Holy shit!" the bartender exclaimes "That the most tequila I've ever seen anyone drink that fast before - whats the occassion?"
"My first blow job" the man anounces quite plainly.
"Well" the bartender replies "let me buy you another!"
"Listen, if 9 doesn't take the taste out of my mouth, another one won't help."

Everyone knows law school is full on honkies. This guido thing is a possible new development. I knew one of the guys from Jersey Shore wanted to go to Harvard, but I thought he might just be fan of Legally Blonde and needed something to do between seasons.kilgore_trout wrote:I wonder if anyone would be fired up if he said Honky.
