Maryland @ Sticker v. Penn State w/ $$ v. Temple w/ $$$ v. N Forum

I am from New Mexico and got into Maryland, Temple, Penn State, and New Mexico.

I plan on joining the Marine JAG Corps and practice military law for awhile then going into the private sector and eventually perhaps running for public office, but we will see on that.

My question is, should I attend Maryland (the highest ranked of the schools) at sticker or Penn State w/ roughly half of tuition paid for, Temple w/ roughly half paid for, or UNM with EXTREMELY low in-state tuition and basically all of it paid for?

I am inclined to think that being from New Mexico and as a Hispanic male (New Mexico has an extremely high Hispanic population), and with military experience that my chances of a political career are higher in my home state, and I will also leave law school with virtually no debt. Also, I think my chances of excelling in law school and graduating at the top of my class is higher at UNM than the other schools.

But going to Penn State or Temple I will also leave law school with little debt. It also seems to me that with a new building and an dedicated alumni base, Penn State seems to be on the upswing, and many people say it will outpace even Maryland. Plus, the name Penn State seems to carry more national recognition than the other schools.

Any advice?

Well if I enjoy Baltimore, would Maryland be worth the debt I would take on?

Penn State is also in the middle of nowhere, so would I be confined to University Park since Temple seems to have more pull in Philly?

Can you play the other acceptances off each other? Maybe attempt to negotiate with Maryland. Couldn't hurt.
