That seems like a totally reasonable situation for your fiance to discuss in a LOCI.

I don't have any special insight into how these things work, but I'm guessing you won't get more than a standard reply about not being able to discuss another person's application, even if it is your fiance. Unofficially, it might even hurt her chances if they think you're trying to pressure them. Maybe let your fiance approach it from her end and mention the special situation. Still may not make a difference, but I think that's less likely to backfire.

What school? Is it T14? If not, this sounds like a recipe for disaster. One of you should have a real job while the other goes to law school, in case both of you can't find jobs. As for your original question, it doesn't hurt to ask, they won't put you on the rejection list because of it.
