Barring scholarship money, regional preference, and cost, what do you guys think? I just want a job come graduation.

The problem is that the NLJ250 placement numbers represent the % of people that GO into those firms. It is not necessarily the amount that COULD GO into them. That is "placement power", slightly different. That being said, using the NLJ250 numbers isn't completely wrong.

Which is exactly how I got myself a little more comfortable with AU over some similarly ranked schools.Flanker1067 wrote:That being said, using the NLJ250 numbers isn't completely wrong.

There is good logic to this. For example, Fordham is around 30 in USNews but ranks much higher in NLJ250. However, the one caveat is that these numbers are pre-economic meltdown and the lower ranked schools (below T14) are hit the hardest by the economy.
If you could be more specific as to which schools you are deciding between it would be helpful.

Another caveat is that NLJ250 has a pretty sever east coast bias so schools like UCLA, Texas, and Berkeley are also hit a bit.ZXCVBNM wrote:There is good logic to this. But if in good economic times firms were more likely to go A over B, I doubt that they would start going to B in the middle of a downturn, or am I mistaken in this belief?
FWIW, my choice was between Tulane and AU, and I just feel that AU has more going for it. I haven't placed a deposit yet, so if you all think there is something wrong with AU over Tulane, please enlighten me.
