Dean's Certification Letter
I applied to Brooklyn Law and it says Dean's Certification Letter - Missing. I graduated from college last May. What is this Dean's Certification Letter and do I need one?

Yes you do. It should be available from Brooklyn. You take the form to a Dean at your former school, and they have to fill out a few things about your academic record.

It is usually one page or so and it certifies that you really graduated and that you were not on probation. It is totally useless and redundant but if schools ask for it then you just have to give it to them.

I'll one up you guys here on the useless and annoying thing: Certain schools, like Columbia and NYU, make you send in UG transcripts to transfer law schools.
So, your current law school has already certified that you graduated, LSAC already has official copies, and the schools STILL want you to go through the hassle of doing it all over again. What about high school transcripts, eh?

Should I waive my rights to see the Dean's Certification Letter?
