99th percentile LSAT scorers!

Post by AdmiralNelson » Sun Mar 21, 2010 8:44 pm

1.) How many times did you take the LSAT?
2.) If more than once, what was your high/low?
3.) What school are you/will you be attending, and how did the multiple scores affect your admissions prospects?

Sounds like you are more interested in hearing from repeat testers.

Not necessarily. The answer "once" to question 1 would also constitute a valid and appreciated response.

Yes it would, but it still sounds like you are more interested in hearing from repeat testers. Not that there's anything wrong with that of course.

Btw once.

You thinking about retaking? You think a 172+ will make a huge difference?

My GPA is scheduled to increase quite a bit and I am really considering trying for a 172+ for next cycle. I think our motivation is about the same lol

I think it changes slightly every administration to match the curve, doesn't it?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think a 171 (my score) on the Sept 09 test was a 98.8%, and a 172 was a 99 on the nose. Or I could be delusional.

Either way, I missed 99%th by like 1 question.

1.) How many times did you take the LSAT?

three times (!!)

2.) If more than once, what was your high/low?

cancel/170/176

3.) What school are you/will you be attending, and how did the multiple scores affect your admissions prospects?

nyu. my only acceptance so far. prob affected my cycle somewhat, but i did apply late (end of dec/early jan). though i have 0 rejections, i've been waitlisted (or the equivalent) at columbia, georgetown, uchicago, umich, uva, upenn, berkeley. withdrew from all. still haven't heard from cornell, northwestern, or harvard, but will likely pull out from those 3 as well.

Werd.

We need a thread for 170/171 going for 172+ AKA people who can get in to some really good schools but only want YHS.

Twice! One cancel due to slightly extenuating circumstances and 177 final.

Waiting out this app cycle to apply right at the start for of the upcoming cycle! Of course, now I get to worry about my resume with the extra time off! ;)

For what it's worth, I would have absolutely retaken had I not broken into the 99th percentile.

Thanks for your candor. It's definitely a ballsy move, and one I haven't quite decided I'm ready for...

3.) What school are you/will you be attending, and how did the multiple scores affect your admissions prospects? Most likely CLS. I don't think the multiple scores made any difference to my application.

Yeah it said 99% on my score report from Feb, but then it had the document with the break-down and it was 98.6%. I tell people it was 99% though. Shit, that's what they told me.

Double-check, if you'd like. I just did.

Is it possible that they rounded?
nope, 172 was 99th percentile in sept 09. if you notice the top of that chart points out that thats the average percentiles per score from 2006 -2009

1. Once

I took it Sept 08 and got a 172, which said 99% percentile on it.

Is there another place I should be looking? Where are these charts?
