I thought about this when I heard Gonzaga mentioned on sports radio this morning...
You'd think that a school like Gonzaga would be very attuned to its numbers, since a small slip takes it out of the T2 and into the T3, which is a pretty massive psychological drop for potential candidates.
Is there any evidence of these schools that are in danger of dropping out of the numbered rankings doing stuff that is usually only attributed to T14 schools? (Like YP for example?)

Re: Evidence of numbers whoring at the bottom of T2?
Why not? Seems logical. Any school has an incentive to maximize its #s when faced with the prospect of falling out of a USNWR tier or "sub-tier" (i.e. the T6, T14, etc.)
