what sort of a person gets a 4.0 and 175+ on lsat?

Post by dsa1 » Thu Mar 11, 2010 1:50 am

Maybe I'm retarded and my working hard was never good enough.

Anyway. I definitely am jealous of the 4.0 + 175+ people.

That's all.

Just kidding, by the way. All it takes is the sort of person who's smart and goes to a bad school or has an easy major.

I am only one point away from a 4.0 and 175. Unfortunately it is a GPA point.

Why is getting a 175 a high priority? You feel that intelligent people couldn't have other pressing priorities? For all intent and purposes a 172 with a 4.0 is enough. (I am short a lil on both because those are not overriding my other priorities  so I am biased)

Honestly I think GPA is all about realizing that GPA is important the first day of your freshman. Not partying. How many upward trend stories do you hear on here?

I would disagree, If you majored in basket weaving (or similarly simple major), a 4.0 is within the reach of many people. Since us news rankings don't take into account your major or UG institution they are basically softs. A 175+ just takes a lot of practice, some brains, and a little luck.

you're right that really high GPAs are achieved by people who are aiming to keep them high from the very first semester, but the idea that you can't party and have good grades is silly.

This. Not that I necessarily "realized" partying wasn't conducive to a good GPA. For me, it was more a matter of my UG's social/Greek scene chewing me up and spitting me out within a couple weeks of arriving on campus. I didn't have the party-vs-study dilemma, because partying wasn't an option available to me.
