How Much Does This Matter?
I'm not really sure if this is worth worrying about but since I'm looking to become a law student I figured I'd get used to irrational fear.
One of my professors has a common first name that is spelled in an uncommon way. Think Lynda instead of Linda. The error occurred on the letter ID/Description section of the LSAC.org letter of recommendation form.
Am I being paranoid that such a small error would impact my acceptance chances in a negative way? or should I try to get the spelling changed through a request?

It might be a strike against you on sloppiness but it won't make or break your file. It won't keep you from being an admit when they were going to admit you regardless. Some of the schools won't even notice I'll bet.

How would sending a request to Lsac get it noticed at a law school?

O I assumed you have already applied.
You're right the schools won't notice. Go ahead and see if LSAC will fix it since you're probably going for an entering class of 2011?
If not they can't do anyting, you have lots of time to get it fixed.

I wouldn't want to go to a school that cared about that.

+1. A mispelling of a name is far different than say a typo on a personal statement. The latter is lazy and has some bearing on your approach to important things, the first is an honest error that doesn't really bear on your approach to life. Next time be more careful, but I wouldn't worry about it.hsprophet wrote:I wouldn't want to go to a school that cared about that.
