big deal?
Is it a big deal to refer to a dean as Mr. or Ms. Instead of Dean, say in an email.

Depends on the individual person. Just ask [strike]Ms.[/strike] err... Senator Boxer.corporatelaw87 wrote:Is it a big deal to refer to a dean as Mr. or Ms. Instead of Dean, say in an email.

Yea I can see where a person would want the most respectful title, but it's not like I reffered to them by their first name

I think as long as you didn't put the wrong gender title, you should stop worrying.

If you are replying to a letter or email that they wrote you can just see how they sign it. If they sign it John DOe, Dean of Admissions then you should address him as Dean Doe. Some schools have Directors of admissions and assistants to the Dean, etc.
