Did I just get screwed?
Today I received an email from a T14 (one that doesn't have a status checker) saying that my file was not complete because they didn't receive my letter of recommendation. According to LSAC, my report was requested on 1/27. I called the admissions office, and after being put on hold for a few minutes, I was told that my file is now complete. I asked why they sent me that email, and they said that it was because they "just received the letter". My question is: did my completion date just become 3/4, and did that hurt my chances of admission because my file wasn't even being looked at for the past month? Second question: who messed up, LSAC or the admissions office?

They could YP you for fun in addition to screwing you on the application.JasonCG wrote:Today I received an email from a T14 (one that doesn't have a status checker) saying that my file was not complete because they didn't receive my letter of recommendation. Either way, nothing you can do about it.

That's very strange...could you call LSAC and find out if there was a delay or something went wrong on their end?

Sounds like the admissions office goofed, which is unfortunate. Obviously they did not "just" receive it. Sadly, there is probably nothing you can do about it.
Use a pen name like Boo Radley and go write about it.

I think you'll be fine. You might not be accepted, of course, but your application should still be considered honestly and objectively. Legal minds should see that you already satisfied what was required of you in January. It was somewhere further along the information processing stream that a mistake occurred, for which you should be granted indemnity. However, schools already caution applicants to leave several weeks of slush room, probably with this type of expected procedural error in mind. So perhaps they'll consider it partially your fault. I just don't think the actual reviewers will care much about one more file being thrown on their mountain.

I received this same e-mail, from what I am 99% sure is the same school. If it's any consolation, you aren't alone. Mine were also noted as being sent back in mid-January.

Misery loves company. I have borderline numbers, so stuff like this just makes the waiting process that much more agonizing.MissCongeniality wrote:I received this same e-mail, from what I am 99% sure is the same school. The best part for me is that I'd wondered this whole time why I hadn't received a complete e-mail. From people here, it seemed not unusual to have never heard from this place at all before receiving a decision, so I chalked it up to that instead of calling earlier.JasonCG wrote:Misery loves company. I had worried about that too. I even emailed them in late January because it had been a month since FedEx delivered the application, but I hadn't received any emails from the school. They reassured me that my application was on file, so I figured there was nothing else I could do. I didn't anticipate LSAC reports getting lost in the shuffle.MissCongeniality wrote:The best part for me is that I'd wondered this whole time why I hadn't received a complete e-mail.
