I was wondering about the waitlist. This week I received my decision from Howard Law, which was I will be placed on the waitlist. I was just looking at LawSchoolNumbers.com and saw everyone who received a decision from Howard the same day I did was either waitlisted as well or rejected, even people with numbers good enough to be admitted by Howard's standards. What is this about?

My application just went complete yesterday, so of course I didnt get a decision yet. How long before your decision were you complete?

Have you looked at http://www.chiashu.com?
It looks like Howard sends a huge batch of acceptances in the fall and again in Feb. There is another peak in April. I'm guessing these may be waitlisters that got in after withdrawals.

What are your numbers? Have you done a LOCI, or more LORs?

Yeah, my numbers are a little below the percentiles. I got a 146 on the lsat, but I worked at an investment bank this summer and had little time to study. I have good lors and really good softs (work exp, honors college, and a nationally recognized scholarship). Also, my GPA is a 3.5. However, I think it is still a long shot that I will be accepted off the waitlist. I am kinda of happy I just didn't get rejected.

I would just retake the LSAT. It won't be that tough for you to get the 150s. You would be in. With 160 you might even get some scholarship $$$.

Yeah, I am considering that option. I have been accepted to a few law schools. I am going to to wait to hear back from WVU and UARK-Fayetteville and then consider if I am going to sit out a year and retake the lsat or put a seat deposit down at one of the other law schools I have been accepted at. But thanks for your response and the site link.

Totally sit the year out and retake. Do no go to any TTT when you could go to Howard or T20 school. Quit your job, or cut down the hours and take a LSAT prep course. you could easily get the 140s lsat into the upper 150s which would get you into Howard easily probably with a fat scholarship. With your GPA and a LSAT ~ 160 you're in at a T14, northwestern easily cause you have work experience. With a 160+ LSAT your probably good all the way up to HLS.

GPA is way more important than LSAT for URMs. a 3.5/159 will go higher than a 2.8/169.

You have a solid GPA. With a little LSAT prep you can go to great schools.

Yes, they send emails for waitlists for sure. I am not sure about rejections.

i got the waitlist e-mail from howard as well, it said not to contact them until june.. do you think that means i can't send in a LOCI?
