LOR Disaster
The lsac site has only 2 of my 7 LORs posted. All of them were posted express mail before last friday. My deadlines are primarily march 1st, this upcoming monday. Is there any likelihood of anymore posting in time for the deadline? What should I do, my most important LORs have yet to register. Will lsac forward them as they recieve them? Am I screwed?

I don't know if they will post in time or not, but I wouldn't miss deadlines for LORs. Even the "most important" ones are a very, very small part of admissions decisions.

I can't answer your question fully but I do know that the date the LSAC receives the mail you send them has no bearing on when they process it. So if you send it overnight mail it will still take them at least a week to add it to your account.

Re: LOR Disaster
Send your applications now. Schools that require a certain number of LORs will hold your applications until they get all of the LORs, even if that means getting the LORs after the submission deadline. The submission deadline only applies to the main body of the application, not other materials. You can assign new LORs to schools after the application is submitted, and LSAC will forward them.
However, some schools have a secondary deadline by which point all information must be in and complete. Since your LORs are all at LSAC, you should be fine making those deadlines.
Also, 7 LORs, yet applying at the deadline?

It might not hurt to fax your letter now or first thing on Monday morning to LSAC. Some ppl have had their letters processed the day of.

Re: LOR Disaster
how do you have 7 LORS? I think most schools only take 4.

Maybe some of them are school specific? I can't see any other reason for having that many.adameus wrote:how do you have 7 LORS? I think most schools only take 4.

Just tell the LSs if it comes down to it. They probably will understand. I have had things like that happen to me and have never had a problem after calling to talk to someone. They just need to know what's up. ... It's not going to be a disaster. They will probably even give you the option of having your recommenders e-mail it if you are really worried about it.

As stated earlier, submit your applications NOW and add the LORs later.

Send those 2 LORs to every school and forget about the rest that haven't posted by the deadline. I don't know of many schools that require 3+ LORs.

Re: LOR Disaster
Send you apps now. If they are already assigned to each school, the LORs will be sent automatically as they come in. My earlier LORs took about 2 weeks to post after they were mailed. With weather/closings of LSAC, I had a late LOR that took almost a month to post. I was in a panic. BUT, I found that it eventually posted on the school online status checker before it posted received on LSAC. Strange huh................
