Chicago money

Post by stillWaiting23 » Wed Feb 24, 2010 4:27 pm

I should have asked this in a similar thread from yesterday, but oh well.

I have been offered ~20k/year from Michigan. My current choices are Michigan, Chicago and Northwestern. From the question I asked yesterday, I understand that there is a fairly good chance NW will match Michigan's money. But, what about Chicago? They are a little higher in the rankings; will that make them feel it is unnessecary to throw money at me?

I was accepted to Chicago on Feb 4th, and didn't look until then at their financial aid information. So, I missed the deadline to submit a fafsa by three days. Is there any chance they will offer something? Do I just call up the admissions office and say, 'hey, Michigan gave me this much, can you offer somerthing?'

Thanks!

Yeah, you could do this. Don't expect a match from them though. Chicago is generally seen as on a different tier than Michigan.

You don't need to fill out NeedAccess or Fafsa in order to be considered for merit money at Chicago - they consider you automatically. And as JGG said, it is unlikely that Chicago will match your scholarship but there is no harm in trying.

No. The University of Chicago Law School does not match scholarship offers from other schools
