Diversity Statement

Is it ok to add a Diversity Statement to your application even though it is not an option. Thanks.

I just wrote mine into my personal statement when they didn't allow optional essays. If you need some help getting into a school (that's why you feel the need to send additional material) then it probably isn't a good thing to indicate to them that you don't like to follow set instructions.

Call and ask each school. From experience, many of the schools I've applied to were welcoming of additional statements even though it wasn't listed as an option.

edit: there's a difference between not being an option and not being listed. call the school to be sure.

Yes. I did it for every school I applied to and it worked great for me.
