Total Silence from Stanford?
So I applied to Stanford earlier december and haven't gotten anything since my initial application email, not even an application complete notification. I'm not very optimistic about my chances (in fact I'm sure I'll be rejected but figured I'd give it a shot) so it's not a big deal to me, but have other people gotten more emails from them?

I actually think this is an interesting question. I applied around the same time. For those of us in this boat, does it look like we have a shot still or are we likely going to end up rejected/waitlisted?

They are a quiet school. I've heard that many people never received a "complete" e-mail from them. You could always e-mail the admissions office and ask if your application has been processed and is complete.

A lot of people last year didn't hear from them until 4/15 or 5/1. First notice. It seems most of those were WL/Rejection, but I have a friend who heard from them 5/1 (WL) and actually was accepted off the waitlist in July.

Yeah I think that only about half or less of the acceptances have gone out thus far. But if I haven't heard by April, I will assume a WL.

Yup. Also, we currently have no evidence for any non-URMs admitted to Stanford since 2/1. They're just relaxed and slow about admissions. Which is fine with me; schools with rapid turnarounds make me more nervous.Kronk wrote:Yeah I think that only about half or less of the acceptances have gone out thus far. Amazingly, while reading this post this afternoon my SLS Application Complete email arrived. I applied last minute, for what it's worth.
