Status Checker

Do schools e-mail you your username and password for status checker or how does this work? Or it is different for each school.

Almost always, yes.

I had to sign up for Georgia's. Though, I think they did eventually email me to tell me about it in case I hadn't already signed up.

For the schools I applied to that have an online status checker, all but one emailed me the login information. One sent it in a letter in the mail.

Remember that not all schools have an online status checker, and among the ones that do, it gives varying amounts of information. Some give almost no information and others show a lot. You might even find out about the decision before it shows up on the checker (and some will just say "decision rendered, and others will say "admitted").
