Application Process

Post by was437 » Thu Feb 11, 2010 5:01 pm

I was wondering how I would package everything a school requires when I send in my application?

Instead of doing the LOR's through LSAC, I want to just send everything the school requires directly to the school. Their requirements are:

Application
Recent Passport Photo
2 LOR's
Transcripts
Personal Statement

Any problems with me just sending everything directly to the school? How should I bind everything together?

It is a local school, and the only school I will be applying to. I am above the 75th percentile on both GPA and LSAT.

Sorry for being redundant.

Thanks

Try an envelope. I am assuming you are an international student but no need to worry so much! :)

Oh. but LORs should be sent directly from the recommenders.

You may want to check with the school. Some schools will only take LOR through LSAC. If they do accept them directly, they may insist they be sent directly from the evaluator, not you. Same with the transcripts. You may not need to include transcripts, because a transcript summary report will be included with your LSAC report when they send your LSAT score.

Otherwise I would just send the paper items/photos in a 9 X 12 envelope to avoid having to fold. Most school scan your documents into a data base, so they will appreciate them not being creased.

You guys are dead on. Although the universities website states that the LOR's can be send directly to the school, the lady in the admissions office said that I would need to send them to LSAC.

Almost all ABA law schools require transcripts to be sent through LSAC. Besides, how were you planning on getting your LSAT score reported?

You can refer to the law school's individual website if you are interested in the details. I didn't have many schools to apply to so I had the chance to look over their websites in depth.
