upenn or ucla? Forum

just got into these two schools.

If I go to UPenn, I am at an ivy league!

If i go to UCLA, I'll save housing costs and be near family

what should i do???

I dont think thats true especially for the west coast but really, i don't think people look at the two schools as being worlds apart or the quality of education as being as different as the rankings suggest, actually in cali ucla would benefit you down the road and penn would probably be less of an advantage.

If there's a chance you want to practice outside of LA, I'd go with Penn.

Go with Penn... It will do fine on the west coast. The numbers are lower due to self selection on the west coast. Ivy plus top 10 opens up many doors. With your ties to the west coast, you should have little problem finding a west coast job assuming you finish median. I would take Penn in a heartbeat over UCLA.
