Whats up with Emory this Cycle?
Is it just me or has Emory only accepted applicants with 166/3.6 and higher so far this cycle? (stats from LSN)

Re: Whats up with Emory this Cycle?
Look at their profile on TLS, they're trying to remain a top 20 school and everyone knows gpa and LSAT play an important factor in that.
Also, remember that LSN does not represent everyone who has applied/been accepted/rejected/waitlisted. It could very well be that there have been others who have been accepted with numbers below 166/3.6 that chose not to join LSN.
But, I agree, it sucks...mostly because I want in and have an LSAT score below 166
haha

Re: Whats up with Emory this Cycle?
I am sure they will let in more at some point. Last year 166 and something around a 3.5 were the medians. I think it's a little unrealistic to think that they can accept no one but people who are at/above last years medians and expect to fill the class. Maybe the currently accepted people are about to get scholarship money thrown at them, and then others will start to get in?

They are probably behind in reviewing applications, and just decided to go through the autoadmits first.

Seems similar to what WUSTL did from 2007-2008 to 2008-2009. Not sure if they will be able to do it, but like WUSTL, Emory has enough money to throw around to try and make it happen (especially since schools like Texas have become noticeably pickier this cycle).

169/3.6X applied back in Jan and still have not heard back. Where's all this talk about auto-admits being 166/3.6 coming from? Have they just not gotten to my app yet? I'd love to see some of that scholly money.

I have no idea but 167 and 3.3 and I got in with a scholarship. I'm sure everyone who hasn't heard will hear very soon.

For those who got scholly offers, did you get them with your initial acceptance packet or did it arrive later? Thanks!

Not sure about this. I have 167/3.7 and they offered me absolutely no scholarship.Richie Tenenbaum wrote:Seems similar to what WUSTL did from 2007-2008 to 2008-2009. 169/3.6X and no scholly either. I'm hoping that they maybe send the money offer out after the acceptance letter, since I just got my acceptance today haha.musicfor18 wrote:Not sure about this. Re: Whats up with Emory this Cycle?
Haha this is so hilarious. I just started reading all these posts. I'm hoping to get off the Emory waitlist (not hopeful, but hoping). There is just no way to predict who will get in. I'm way lower in stats than some of you, but got waitlisted. What is the point of this? I got WL at GWU too. Yet I haven't heard a peep out of UGA, Hastings and Davis who I should have gotten into....I don't get it....any ideas? Did pot get legalized and I didn't know it?

166/3.9 and $$ (or $$$ I don't really know the system they use on here). Probably withdrawing--good luck to all.
