Just got a phone interview!! what is that?bad? good? Forum

Case Western just called and asked me when is the best time for phone interview and I scheduled it for next week.
I asked whether everybody gets phone interview and the lady on the phone said "no" and she did not know who were the ones getting phone calls.

My LSAT is 162 and 158 with GPA of 3.1 (in top 20 undergrad school)

is this good or bad?

I am business major and I was thinking of going to law school and then work for corporation...
but.. I don't want to go where I can't get a job afterwards..
(although I don't even know if I will get in )

I don't know the statistics for phone interviews, but I imagine if you've made it to this point, then you have a good shot at acceptance.
Case Western is a good regional school. If you're sure you'd like to remain in the area, then you should be fine there.

From what I have heard and read in other forums, I can't figure out who gets interviews and who doesn't. I was given a 15/k a year scholarship but no interview. Other candidates with bigger scholarships had interviews and still others who didn't receive scholarships had phone interviews. I don't think it's necessarily a good sign or a bad sign but I think most people who are interviewed end up with acceptances. GOOD LUCK - I might see you at Case in the fall!

Assuming that you are applying to Case Western's full-time program, your higher LSAT score is above last year's 75 percentile (160) but your GPA is below its 25th percentile (3.31). It is probably for this reason that you been requested to interview. I would call it a good sign since Case is still interested in your application and you stand a good chance of being admitted.
