Help! will a typo on PS fail me from reach schools? Forum

I am now panicking...

Yesterday I sent my apps to Fordham and GWU, today I found a typo on my PS...I misspelled "bath" for "path"...

Given my stats 165/3.6(international applicant, with my transcript evaluated by LSAC as above averaged), is it advisable for me to email the ad comm an updated version?

Don't worry about it. First, many people have reported making typos and still getting accepted to reach schools. A sloppy application is one thing, a single typo is another. Adcoms know that we are human. Second, according to LSP over half of the people that applied to those schools with your stats were accepted. Third, stop looking at your applications after you submitted them. Nothing you can do now, so grab a beer and relax.

my numbers are right about the median and my app is rather late in this cycle, so if I wrote a letter with updated version enclosed to explain my awful feelings and my situation (a pwc auditor on an IPO program, work overtime every day), do you think it will compensate for the hurt a typo brings?

I've been accepted into two of my reaches so far and had a big typo in my PS. Don't worry about it. Your numbers and strong application will speak for themselves.

Most schools will allow you to submit an updated version of the essay. But are you sure you need to? I can think of sentences in which "path" could substitute for"bath".
