SMU $
Ok, I got a 160 back in September and applied to SMU. IT was the only school I applied to before retaking and getting a 167. After getting the second score I applied to much higher rated schools. Just out of curiousity, with that score and a 3.91, what kind of money am I looking at there. The only reason I ask is that I am from Dallas and kind of want to stay in the area. Thanks.

Your title says it all: $sternc wrote:Ok, I got a 160 back in September and applied to SMU. IT was the only school I applied to before retaking and getting a 167. That said, definitely (and courteously) inform them of your new score and (if you have them) the acceptances from much better schools that are coming in hopes of negotiating some money from them.
Congrats on your new score and enjoy UT.

I could go to lawschoolnumbers.com (which is only mildly reliable - less than half of the total applicants to any given school use that site so that data is not really comprehensive/exhausive) to see.
However I feel as though you would be looking at something between a 75% scholarship to a full tuition scholarship (I'm not sure if SMU does the stipend thing - their class size is really small [like 150 in a full time class] - so they may not feel as though the need to).

After a little reading-up, I agree with this. Check last year's LSN for a fairly good indicator of the money you're likely to receive. For some unknown reason, I thought SMU still averaged LSAT scores for scholarship consideration, which they clearly do not.Aberzombie1892 wrote: A 167 and a 3.91?

That being said, unless you're debt-averse, you should still consider UT with those numbers, especially since you're in-state and want to stay there.
HTH and good luck!
