I been getting rejections non stop (right before Christmas).
today I got a letter from washington and lee that I have been waitlisted.
my Gpa and LSAt is awful (3.1, 162, 158)
I did not at all thought this could be possible.
I know that I will never get accepted and I am given up on that hope but
today I am just so happy

One of my best friends talked his way into a full ride at W&L after applying in July of year he started law school!
He says it was because he went down, got a tour, and talked his way into it. You might consider doing the same. An in-person hand shake can make all the difference! (especially at W&L)

Definitely take a trip there, OP. Write a LOIC, get another LOR, call admissions and ask about your application.
Don't be so persistent that you irritate them, but stay constant and keep reminding them that they're your #1 choice. You've got an uphill battle, but people get off wait lists every day. You could be one of those people.
