Selfish question

Post by staylor21 » Fri Jan 15, 2010 8:04 pm

This is really a selfish question, but I am a first time poster here and wanted some insight on where you guys think I can actually get in to school (wouldnt we all like to know). I got a 167 on the December 2009 LSAT after a 159 in June 09 and just submitted my applications within the last 10 days.

Other info : 3.6 GPA in a Double Major and a large minor at University of Iowa , white male, average Extra curriculars and work experience, nothing that would blow anyone away but not blank.

Any insight would be grand :) good luck to all

Without giving us any insight as to where you've applied, plan to apply, want to work, etc. I can only offer one thing:

In everywhere on your list but Cornell.

For a reach, you might try Vanderbilt.

You also could and should apply to more schools in the T20-T30 range -- it will at least give you more leverage in negotiating more merit aid. If you have any interest, you'd be a strong candidate at ND, BU and BC if you applied ASAP. You'd also be looking at nice $$ at Indiana-Bloomington, with your numbers.

Good luck!

You'll get into all of them except Cornell, which looks like a WL/R. Last year, according to LSN, people with your numbers got ~$70,000 from WUSTL.

Wake Forest and Alabama might give you pretty good sized scholarships, but you'd have to be interested in working in the Raleigh/Charlotte/Atlanta/Knoxville/Columbia or Birmingham/Montgomery/Atlanta/New Orleans markets. Vanderbilt is worth a shot. Texas is worth a shot but you'd have to be willing to work in Texas.
