Not that I would ever do this, but what would happen if someone were to check that they were an URM, either on purpose or by accident, when they really weren't?
Just wondering

Re: innocent question
I doubt the school will find out but might be trouble on Character and Fitness Review for the bar.

Re: innocent question
there's been many threads on this already - just use the search button. The consensus reached has been that you'd get your ass handed to you by the bar, and have wasted $150,000hjjs22 wrote:Not that I would ever do this, but what would happen if someone were to check that they were an URM, either on purpose or by accident, when they really weren't?

Also, how does one 'accidentally' check the URM box?

Re: innocent question
Much like free lunches, there are no innocent questions, this one especially. Misrepresentation: a school can revoke your acceptance if you applied under false pretenses, lied about anything, etc. I'm pretty sure it's part of the fine print on most apps. That and you'd be barred by the bar in the future and you'd have another ding to add to the ding bar thread.

If you do this, at first you are only probably fucked. Three years later, you are definitely fucked.
Seems like big mistake/costly accident to me.
