Request for Fall Grades...Good, Bad, or Neither?
So I have received requests from UPenn and Columbia within the last two days for my Fall Grades. Both mentioned an initial review had been completed and a further review would be pursued after receipt of grades.
Obviously this would be a bad thing if my Fall grades were bad. However, I had a good semester and will push my LSAC GPA up (although just slightly...by .01). In my mind, if I was going to be waitlisted or rejected straight out there would be no need to request further transcripts. However, after weeks of no news from the remaining schools on my list I am probably just trying to dig deep for any sign of good news....Opinions?

Sounds like a good sign to me.

I'm hoping it's a good thing (for both our sakes). I'd assume it's a positive sign, just because they wouldn't bother requesting an update from someone they aren't really considering.

171/3.75.. Obviously more likely at UPenn and more borderline at Columbia (Would be very ecstatic about Columbia...it is my #1 reach that I actually have somewhat of a chance at.)

Probably a good sign, they may just be checking to you didn't totally slack off or something this semester (which you didn't, so you should be in good shape). Good luck!

Re: Request for Fall Grades...Good, Bad, or Neither?
I got the same email as well, 172/3.6, but my graduate school program is based on year end exams worth 100% of my grade, and so I responded asap to the email detailing that information and received an email same day saying it had been added to my file. Is the fall grades request a good thing and do you think I'll be in a worse off position as I have no grades to show them due to the weay grades go at my grad school?
