Advice for Rutgers...both schools

Post by eagles86 » Tue Jan 12, 2010 6:33 pm

Question: it says to choose whether to be considered by lsat/gpa or other experiences. I know this is unique but I'm one year out of undergrad and non- URM.

I'm 2.98/159..numbers that can get me into RU- Newark but not certain. Also, good internships etc but im leaning toward the lsat/gpa option since i have little work experience.

Unless you have significant work and/or other experiences I don't think you should check the box. Your numbers should be good enough for Newark, not sure about Camden.

Definitely wouldn't check the box. But to reiterate the above poster's statements, you have a good shot at Newark, not so sure about Camden but you're not an auto-reject either.

Good luck!

I asked the admissions rep the same question at the NY forum. Her first response was "It doesn't really matter." But then she told me to choose to be evaluated based on experience when I told her about my 2 years WE (at the time). She went on to say that it is very split between the two choices and that most people who choose the numbers option are most often very strong candidates.
