Updated Transcripts
I'm a little confused on how this system works.
LSAC already has my first transcripts, and I've already applied everywhere I wanted to apply (weeks ago). However, now that Fall grades are out I'd like to update my transcripts so that the schools I applied to see them. I've already had my registrar send in the new transcripts, but I'm confused as to what happens then? Does LSAC then turn around and send them out in the mail to the schools? Or do they send it digitally? Or do they not send it at all and the individual schools have to request updated transcripts?
I put my file on hold at Chicago, because they told me specifically that once my file went to committee I would not be able to add anything to it (including transcripts). They told me, "Once you know the transcript has been released by LSDAS, you can send us an email."?
Anybody have any insight? Perhaps one of you has done this before?

Re: Updated Transcripts
I had a transcript processed by LSAC about a day after they sent my initial reports. What happened was near immediately under the already sent reports on the "Report Status" page a new line popped up that just said "Transcript" and nothing else. After a while (maybe a week, it seemed like forever to me) it finally got sent to the schools. The other information (type of report, date, viewable copy of report) all popped up.
I am assuming this means the LSAC does turn around and mail/send an image to the schools (in the same manner of the initial report - paper or image). I do not believe that the individual schools need to request an updated transcript.
EDIT: It took 5-6 days (apprx) for all of mine to be sent.

i don't know how they send them, but i just got off the phone with LSAC and the nice lady told me that they are automatically sent to all schools that requested your report, about 7-10 business days after they receive your new transcript.

Re: Updated Transcripts
You send a transcript to LSAC and each law school automatically receives an updated copy. Same thing if you send a new LOR.

Re: Updated Transcripts
Should we email the admissions office to let them know to look for an updated file? If no decision has been reached yet, do they automatically see the update? Or would they have to specifically look over the file again?
I ask because I've been complete or under review at some schools for a LONG time, which I'm guessing is a de facto WL/ding.

Email the the schools if you want an answer to this I am sure the policy is different. But don't expect anything other than some form of "we added it to your file" though.
