NYU Law

Post by sportsfan4642 » Tue Jan 12, 2010 3:57 am

I received a letter from NYU Law School asking me to apply on January 6. I applied the very next day and would be thrilled to go, but my LSAT is 167 and it's late in the cycle. Other than my 3.9 GPA, why on Earth would they ask for me to apply? Do I have any shot at actually being accepted? Answers would be most helpful. Thanks in advance.

NYU has accepted some 3.9/168 applicants before, but I don't think a 167 will get much consideration from them. They likely just want more applicants to drive down their acceptance rate. Of course, the app fee doesn't hurt them either.

Thanks blue. It was worth dreaming about. Or in my case mulling over at 3 in the morning because I have insomnia and how much Family Guy can I watch?

You should still have good chances at several T14's, like Cornell, Michigan, Virginia, Northwestern (with WE), and possible chances at Duke, Penn, and Berkeley.
