I submitted a PS with font size 10. What should I do?

Post by pulandasu » Mon Jan 11, 2010 5:42 pm

I just recently came across this board and read about the apropriate font size for PS. The fact is that I submitted all my applications on 1/8; the PS used font 10 Times new roman.

I originally had it at font size 11 and two page double spaced, but for Penn, my DS needed to be one page long, so I changed the DS to font size 10. To stay consistent, I converted my PS to font size 10 for all my apps. Is there any way I can ask the adcoms for resubmission of my PS with font size 11? Or am I too late and face the kiss of death?

I only applied to my reaches - Columbia, UChicago, UPenn, this cycle (going for JD/MBA).

3.69 GPA from top 5 liberal arts college; 169/171 LSAT with 5 years of work experience in consulting.

Any comment/advice will be appreciated.

Thanks,

I don't think it's a huge deal. If you're really worried, you can send an e-mail everywhere providing an "updated version" of your statements in 11 pt font.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, unless you sent in a PS anywhere that specifically states the font size should be larger (in which case just email them an updated one).

I would e-mail them an updated draft if they request a font larger than 10. You don't want to draw attention to a problem that may not care much about, but you also don't want to be the person who failed to follow specific directions.

At this point, I would say you leave it alone. Hope the extra content was good.

Thanks for the helpful comments.

It wasn't even I added extra content. With font 10, my PS was actually only 1.5 pages long, it's just that I needed my DS for Penn to fit in to a page so I changed the font to 10. I think I will stay put and hope for the best.

This will not be a problem, forget about it.
