Addendum needed for one mediocre grade?
I received one 3.3 (B+) grade during the spring semester of my freshman year. I have a rather compelling story for why I received that grade that could potentially look good on paper. My question is whether or not it is worth it to bother an admissions committee with the reasoning behind that grade. It's obviously not an awful grade but it is the single outlier on my transcript at this point. Any advice?

do not write an addendum. you'll look like a pretentious dbag. and admissions committees wont care. youre wasting everyone's time.

My advice: Don't be ridiculous. Stop worrying about it. People get in to law school with a 3.3 GPA overall, much less in one class. I can't imagine you having any fun in college ever if you're this stressed over one 3.3.

wait are you seriously not graduating from undergrad until next year? as in 2011?
go out, have a drink, socialize. Youre going to die of a stress-induced heart attack before you make it to law school.

I had 3 B+s and I'm already in at several great schools. Please breathe.wackyjack22 wrote:I received one 3.3 (B+) grade during the spring semester of my freshman year. Re: Addendum needed for one mediocre grade?
I'm not going to die of a stress-related heart attack, I'm actually fairly laid back, but your advice is appreciated none the less. I will go out and have that drink tonight. The reason I was considering writing an addendum is because the personal issue that took place that semester could give me a boost in admissions. I don't want to use the story for my personal statement but I was considering risking the addendum with reach schools. After reading what you guys said about the 3.3 really not being a big deal, though, it seems like it would be quite a dbag move to even discuss that grade. The addendum is now off the table. Thanks!

Almost certainly not, but I wouldn't say flat out no like I did to the B+. It depends.xyzzzzzzzz wrote:what if that grade was a D+? would that merit an addendum?
