Emails from schools encouraging you to apply... Forum

Hey all,

I know this may be a stupid question, but how much interest does a law school have in a prospective applicant when they email them to encourage them to apply to their school and waive the application fee? I'm a 3.56/153 and received an email from a school ranked in the 60s so naturally I got a little excited . I know of course that they're not guaranteeing me a spot, but does anyone have any experience with this to maybe gauge how interested (if at all) they are?

I have already been rejected and waitlisted at schools that sent me a fee waiver along with an invitation to apply. Don't read too much into it, it doesn't really indicate your chances any more or any less either way.

I got one from Harvard, and while I applied, it's almost impossible for me to get in. So yeah, they just want to up their numbers.

Slightly disappointing, but at least now I don't have any erroneous expectations. Thanks, guys!

I got one from Harvard, but I refused to play along and up their yield % numbers. I guess I showed them.
