Anyone think that the drop on their 75th for LSAT is welcoming news for splitters this cycle?

UC Irvine at 165/161 for LSAT 75/25, 3.70/3.38 for GPA 75/25. 123 students (up from 89 last year). Down -1 on both ends for LSAT, GPA about the same.

Wonder if their median stayed at or dropped from 164.

Yes! Very well done A&M! I told a buddy to transfer there after a subpar 1L in Brooklyn. Texas is his target market, but my advice went unheeded.

I started sweating when I read this. Here's to hoping he's there on a full ride at least.

Negative. He's in trouble. And the rent. God, the rent.

In a way, it sort of makes sense. Most of these third tier law schools have little to no endowment, but still maybe have a little bit of give in their LSAT medians where they're safe if they drop a few points in bar passage. The only way to maintain revenues while offering enough of a discount to draw students is to balloon class size while keeping faculty steady.

It might mean we see Tier 3 eat up most of the people that can actually pass the bar while Tier 4 collapses. In a way, for law students, it's kind of like plugging one hole while a leak springs elsewhere.

As we keep seeing, bar passage rates are cratering.

I still find it funny that the person who heads the NCBE has never sat for Bar Exam.

Isn't U San Diego second Tier? They are normally ranked in the 70s. Aren't 50-100 second tier?
