All things being equal, it's a toss up between Georgetown and Vandy. However, it's almost never going to come down to that. Vanderbilt will almost always be the right choice when you consider how little Georgetown offers in terms of scholarships.

Vandy is also pretty stingy.

This. I know a few people here who came to UT over Vandy/GULC b/c they were the least stingy.

WRT choosing between schools:

It's all relative to who is considering each school. Being from the Northeast it would have been dumb to go to a Vandy or a UT. What works for some, may not work for others, and you can't compare them in a vacuum.

True, and even then UT isn't known for being the most generous. Ultimately, one must choose what is right for them.

I have a friend who had a 163 and over 75th GPA only got 15k per yr from BC.

I was right at that GPA 75th with a 168 and they offered me 20K a year. In other words, a few grand more than Cornell offered. LOL.

It is possible that BU was able to pull some top applicants from BC to hold their numbers while pushing BC's down...

As long as BC and BU have the same employment rates and reputation across the same markets with roughly the the same cost, I don't think BC's medians matter as much as people think it does

Vandy really benefited from shrinking their class size, there were just another t-20 a couple of years ago but kudos to their administration from getting them closer to the t-14s.
