Re: Latest employment data
I know this is OT but in light of these #'s (from 2013 too), I don't understand ATL's rankings. Especially why they refuse to account for merit-based scholarships (for which there is data), and put USC at rank 30-something when BL placement is like 30% of the criteria.

Everything has changed, kids. It's not your father's T6 anymore.

Re: Latest employment data
Even of the % of jobs isn't as in favor of columbia as before, it still has way more placement power. Take a look at the Summer class distirbutions thread. CLS seems to place its students into more pretfigious opprotunitities.

Re: Latest employment data
If a school you are interested in doesn't release its NALP Report, push them to do so before you attend. It won't show income by class rank but it does give pretty detailed salary data based on job type and location.PeanutsNJam wrote:A class rank/income regression would be so baller to have. You'd have a strong dip at the top for fed clerks but that information + current employment stats would shed a lot of light on outcomes, since not all same-category jobs are the same.

Is this a red flag? Are there legitimate [non scam] reasons for not releasing the NALP report?Tiago Splitter wrote:If a school you are interested in doesn't release its NALP Report, push them to do so before you attend. it can't be good relative to the ABA report... if a school has good info on itself, it will let people knowMozart Lacrimosa wrote:Is this a red flag? i would expect a school to be eager to release a NALP report if a lot of its grads went to 2-50 firm boutiques but ABA reports don't reflect them as prestigious as high paying

Re: Latest employment data
I can't think of any. As starry eyed said the NALP report is a good way to see the quality of the jobs we don't count in the 100+/Fed clerk category.Mozart Lacrimosa wrote:Is this a red flag? I guess UT really is going to wait until after the deposit deadline passes...

Re: Latest employment data
If the employment rate went up, UT's CSO would've definitely released them by now--especially when it competes with so many other schools for quality applicants. This is not good news.

In theory, they have until the end of the day to comply with their own "deadline"

Re: Latest employment data
Columbia is different; for the highest LSAT scorers, Columbia is only competing with roughly ~8 schools or so.exitoptions wrote:Same for Columbia?runinthefront wrote:If the employment rate went up, UT's CSO would've definitely released them by now--especially when it competes with so many other schools for quality applicants. Texas is competing with the entire T14 + all the regional Texas schools + Vanderbilt+ regional west coast schools (because for some reason, many kids in TX want to work on the west coast and many people on the west coast think that going to UT will bring them back to the west coast)...all for the same LSAT score/GPA band.
This is just not the case for Columbia. There's different dynamics at play.

Re: Latest employment data
Columbia's NLJ250 rate--which underreports BL placement and doesn't include clerkships--was 66%, topping the list. CLS is obviously going to end up in the 70s. They're probably just delayed because they have their mega EIP info session for the 1Ls this week.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
