+1
trying to book my plane ticket for NYU ASD and don't know if I should consider going up for CLS days too
(but I'm on hold and have zero chance at hearing back in time... but crazier things have happened I guess...)

At least they're timely in their email responses.
Dear Hibernophile,
Your application is complete but a decision has not yet been made. A decision could be made very soon, perhaps within a month, although we cannot say for sure.
Best wishes,
Columbia Law School
Sooooooooooooo - is a Hold coming my way? I haven't been rejected... doesn't Sound like a waitlist...
I asked for more information and I'm more confused than ever!

Many appreciations if/when you withdraw

WL'd at Columbia. Well, "reserve." They begin deliberations at the end of May.
Whatever. No one likes you anyway, CLS.
Perhaps, just perhaps, your propensity to share your stats on LSN/LSD/TLS led CLS to yp. If I was a CLS adcom troll and I was able to reliably identify an applicant as the same black male who had been accepted to HLS and Michigan (with a Darrow to boot), I'd YP them, too. Why should they roll the dice with their yield when they don't have to? Or maybe auto-admits don't exist.
Write a LOCI and I'm sure you'll be fine.

I don't have much to hide, and I know that when I was trying to figure out where to apply, I had wished more people were forthcoming with their information. Thus the reason I have been that way.
And I have said several times that I would almost certainly have taken a Hamilton over HLS and a Darrow. They could have protected their yield that way!

Received a "reserve" letter today as well. I really did not think I had much chance to even get this. I know there has probably been discussion of this, but can anyone talk about the chances of getting accepted off this/what would help/how it compares to waitlists/send me a forum link. Thanks

Does anyone know if the Columbia status checker ever changes from Complete to Under Review, Decision, or some other status?
I only applied back on the 20th, but I'm anxiously waiting on Columbia.

Already posted this on the Columbiaaaaaaa thread but its probably more appropriate here.
I broke down the hold group on LSN (non-URM) by index and added acceptance to NYU so we could get an idea how differently NYU is handling it (not that it isn't obvious from looking at the big green acceptance field on the graph).
On hold:
43 total
4.0: 2
4.1: 6
4.2: 13, in NYU 4
4.3: 15, NYU 9
4.4: 4 NYU 3
4.5 3 NYU 1 (1 Harvard here as well)
If there was a 4.6 I missed it.
A lot of these were ED deferrals, to be expected given the unusual amount of people who EDed this year. Not a lot of the above are screaming YP but those may be found amongst the withdrawals.
In '07 when there was a lot of people placed on hold 1 4.5 and 1 4.6 got accepted (most withdrew before a decision), every 4.4 got accepted (5 total), 8 4.3s, 5 4.2s, 2 4.1s and a 4.

Dead Ringer, that's pretty awesome analysis. Makes me feel much better. Add me to the list (haven't updated my LSN profile yet) as a 4.4 index also accepted at NYU, placed on Hold at Columbia.

Exactly the same as me. We all have to follow the honor system here. No attempts on each others lives or any sort of Tonya Harding action.

Got the "on hold" letter today. 3.75/170...I'm just happy I wasn't flat out rejected. Time for a LOCI I guess.

Congrats Daisy! It's a little early for scotch, but I think a mimosa is called for.

Count me in too. I haven't
Technically gotten the hold letter yet, but I haven't heard, and when I asked what was going on they basically sent me a 'hold' email and told me to sit down and shut up. 4.2 - Accepted to NYU

as a 4.4, I have to thank you for the reassurance!
I'm still a little uneasy though because of issues like missing the admitted days and having to apply for aid late...
but I feel better than before!

Congrats daisyduck!
Still no news for me -- I applied way back in the fall. I keep swinging between "no news is good news" and "I'm rejected." oh wellz.
