V. 3.0 COMING JUNE 22, 2010!!!-----------------------------or maybe not

As of today, it looks like quite likely so.

There will quite likely be:
- updated data (LSATs and GPAs and rankings)
- state residency feature for the top 100 law schools
- accounting for LSAT and/or GPA "walls" for some schools (this takes time to research and implement)
- minor adjustments to prediction algorithms

Possibly in the near future:
- Canadian law schools
- other adjustments

What is a LSAT and/or GPA "wall"?

Some schools rarely seem to take applicants below a certain GPA or LSAT score (unless applicant is a URM). So I take it that 3.0 will reflect that.

Not all walls are going to be in place, yet. I'm currently focused on getting 3.0 GPA walls in good shape (esp. since it tends to be across the board more so than other walls). When new formulas get published this summer and get updated, I'll probably throw in more.

Anecdotally, it's getting harder to get into a decent law school.

Version 3.0 should release sometime tonight. State residency may not be up-and-running pending my ability/time to fix some issues with it.

Top 100 schools definitely will. I inadvertently destroyed my binding ED algorithms, so I'm fixing that before I update.

I suppose if we all let you be in peace to get the site up and running it would go faster too. Sorry about that.

BTW - I'm so excited or 3.0 - I set my alarm for 5:00 a.m. to check out the site this a.m. So yeah, I'm eager.

Scheduled for August now. It's not at a point where I'm confident about publishing it right now, and I want to try to simplify the calculations so the loading time doesn't increase too much.

Thanks - Hmmm, mine still shows the old rankings i.e. with Berkeley at 6th rather then 7th, maybe I just clicked on the 2.6 instead though.

It looks wonderful, YCRev! I just had to reload it a couple of times. LSP is marvelous as always, and I'm so proud I got to watch it develop into the awesome force it is today.

Also, I'm glad I got into Fordham when I did, as my chances (at the full time program, anyway) declined from 43% to 35%.

As far as the walls go.. have u noticed any indication of a stiff 3.7 line at any of HYSCC?? Im a little below a 3.7 right now and really stuck on whether to send in apps early or wait til after fall grades for a few schools.

I suspect the PT numbers for Fordham this cycle will be a lot more brutal than in the past.

LOL, nothing like cutting the program in half to make it just slightly more competitive!
