If you don't get into one of those schools you risk ending up like that guy from the bachelor - a JD graduate working as a male stripper because he attended IIT in Chicago.

Hopefully there are more T20 medians this week after this boring holiday weekend.

If by "well," you mean they have a 25% chance of a decent outcome (maybe 35% at Michigan, but probably only 20% at UIUC), than sure, they place well.KMart wrote: UIUC, ND, and Michigan place well in Chicago but you have to attend knowing there's a chance you don't end up there.
The job market in Chicago is awful...possibly the worst in the country. There's a lot of people even from NU and UofC law schools toiling away at unpaid "fellowships," which will ultimately result in those people leaving law for some compliance position paying $45K/year. Thank god for LRAP, I guess.

Depends where you're coming from, Chicago is arguably the easiest market to get from HLS. DC is still probably the hardest market all things considered

I am glad USC 25th percentile went down two points from 163 to 161.

But really? A law school in CA in Los Angeles only has 15 latino students out of 192 incoming students? That's not even 10%. Ridiculous.

Held LSAT while increasing GPA and class size -- not entirely surprising because they threw out a lot of money this cycle, but still notable imoMikeSpivey wrote:Emory:

Not much admissions can do. Central U. is clearly telling them to keep bringing the cash come hell or high water.Monochromatic Oeuvre wrote:Huge LOL at going from 163 to 155 in five years. Has anyone been fired yet?Huskies13! wrote:American:

Agreed - I have a number of friends who got better money from lower T14s than AU. A ton of kids will wind up transferring to GW again anyway.Tiago Splitter wrote:Not much admissions can do. What do you suggest they do? Practice an even more extreme form of AA?

Two classmates sent out applications last year. One is now going to American (with ~20% scholarship), despite my best efforts. The other turned down Barry at near the last minute. Its terrifying how far the delusional "all you need is a JD and drive."bpolley0 wrote:Have you worked in the real world? They are everywhere. The people on TLS are the minority, trust me.

American is doing just fine. Five years ago their student body was 10% larger but sticker tuition was 20% lower. They still give out very little "scholarship" money, so their total revenue from tuition has actually gone up. Now in theory it's a problem that their LSAT has cratered, because that could supposedly hurt their employment stats, but their employment stats were terrible when their LSAT was 163. There will always be plenty of people willing to borrow $75K per year in taxpayer money to live in DC while pursuing a career in international environmental human rights law.
