Just received a response from BU, stating they do not give out merit fee waivers "upon request."

Maybe just upon my request? I'd appreciate it more if they had just told me the truth. Oh well.

I think the other person who got one by requesting was a URM. Maybe that's it..?
I want to ask BU for one as well but I think I'll wait until mid-September.

Hmm... I am URM, but I have not been noting this in my fee waiver requests. Perhaps, I am doing it all wrong! lol

I emailed BU about a week ago and have yet to hear a response from them. Ill let you know what they say to me.

I was able to get a need base fee waiver. I just wrote a brief email about how much I wanted to apply. They waived my fees about an hour later.

Same here. They said they give merit based waivers through the CRS search and will begin that process in the upcoming months... seems kinda late to me.

I would recommend mentioning you're a URM somewhere in the request. BU gave me the waiver the next day, probably because of this. Although if you give them you're LSAC # they should be able to see that you're a URM, unless they didn't bother to check.

I'm too lazy to ready through all 31 pages of this thread. Has OP been updating the list on the first page?

I received an email from BU about a week after I sent one requesting a fee waiver. The reply states that they have processed my request, but doesn't explicitly state whether or not the fee has been waived. It also says to email if I encounter any difficulty when applying - so I guess that means it's been waived?

You can always try to check out in LSAC and see.

I want more fee waivers. Partly because I'm broke, partly because I just like getting them.

Agreed. It's nice to feel wanted, even if it is by California School of Law.

I got Cornell's viewbook and fee waiver in the mail today! I'm in Nebraska so maybe the further west the slower they are arriving.
