That number is likely to be quite high. Then again, this could also be wishful thinking by someone else with a 164 that got deferred.dproduct wrote:Well I'm fucked.Marzapan wrote:Deferred yesterday.

For those of us who were deferred but have pretty decent numbers that otherwise would have garnered scholarship consideration, will it be too late for $$ if we eventually get in? They won't even look at our apps again until Feb 1, right?

Deferred as of today. Checking in friends! Cornell is my top choice - I really would love to spend 3 years in Ithaca. Going to start working on my LOCI this weekend and send it out sometime next week.
Oh Cornell... Love me... please.

Cornell just shouldn't do an EA program...I mean, it seems that all they did is defer all the candidates that may actually go there.

Well I'm tempted to agree, I have to say, I like this somewhat. Cornell has to aim high. At least by deferring us, they recognize our merits/desire to attend, but obviously are hoping to snag some big fish.elblufer wrote:Cornell just shouldn't do an EA program...I mean, it seems that all they did is defer all the candidates that may actually go there.
I feel like, at least we will all get read a second time. Another chance for them to fall in love with us. You gotta think our LOCI's/waiting around will count for something versus ties during regular admission.

I hope so. Now, just to hope that spots don't fill up between now and February 1st...dproduct wrote:Well I'm tempted to agree, I have to say, I like this somewhat. Cornell has to aim high. Is there anybody here that re-took the December LSAT but applied to Cornell with their first score anyways?

Yep. And, now I'm held at Georgetown, too, so that's two decisions I'm waiting until February for.dproduct wrote:FEBRUARY 1ST IS JUST SO FAR AWAY.

I'd admit you.
Edit: Really digging this page as a place where we all go to air our various sources of depression this cycle, Cornell and otherwise. TLS support group thread?

I think Cornell should, at the end of this, come to TLS and admit us all. I think we're all showing solid commitment/interest here.
I really hope I get to be 1L's with you guys :/

Re: Deferred at Cornell (2012 EA Applicants)
Lol, starting to consider it. I'm worried that this may be the canary in the coal mine. Aside from my LSAT the rest of my app is fairly weak. Low GPA (strong upward trend though), no volunteer work, just waiter/bartending jobs to pay my rent since I graduated with my worthless liberal arts degree in to the worst economy since the depression. I was hoping that in such a down cycle, schools would let my lack of impressive/selfless achievements thus far slide in favor of saving their LSAT medians/75ths. I fear I may be wrong....Checking in, deferred today - 3.47/179
Did you murder someone bro?
Why no love for the waiters, Cornell? Everyone's gotta eat, right?

I promise that with that LSAT they do not care. Both of your stats are better than mine (though my LSAT is still high for Cornell) and I've been a young urban professional for several years and they deferred me too.WhiskeynCoke wrote:Lol, starting to consider it. Re: Deferred at Cornell (2012 EA Applicants)
That would be fantastic. I'd love to go to Cornell Law. My brother's there now (for undergrad), so that would be kinda nice, the program's small, and they seem to place well in CA.dproduct wrote:I think Cornell should, at the end of this, come to TLS and admit us all. Re: Deferred at Cornell (2012 EA Applicants)
Yup, I did that. I didn't tell them that I'm taking it in December, but I also didn't tell them to hold or review my application. I kind of just sent it in and figured I'll let them decide how they want to handle it. So far it looks like they're waiting for my Dec. score.ph5354a wrote:Is there anybody here that re-took the December LSAT but applied to Cornell with their first score anyways?

Re: Deferred at Cornell (2012 EA Applicants)
Same here. I haven't been deferred yet, but that's what I'm expecting. When I visited campus in November and asked them about how it worked with December re-takers, they told me that we shouldn't expect a decision any faster than the other deferrals after scores come out in January. But hopefully some good news in January will make the waiting process a little easier!M458 wrote:Yup, I did that.
