Ive heard lots of negative theories, but Ive also heard that it may not totally be for the schools ranking strategy. Previous threads document that applying to such schools has yielded positive results in applicants that wouldnt have otherwise applied. Anyone have their own anecdotes? Thanks.
I still don't think it's considered "late" to apply now. I feel this is the time when the vast majority apply. Only in TLS regards, is this time considered "late."

Do you mean need-based or merit-based?

Just received a viewbook and fee waiver by mail from Michigan with a somewhat personalized note from the director of admissions...haven't applied yet, but definitely think I am going to now...

Received this huge white envelope which looked to be like an acceptance letter, only to find out that it was mail from the University of Wisconsin.....they didn't even include a fee waiver in their materials :x

I got a fee waiver from Northwestern two days after applying. Would it be too much to email and ask for a reimbursement?

Can't hurt to try, but my guess is that they'll say no.

Got a fee waiver via email from Columbia exactly one day after I sent in my application and paid the application fee. :x Anyone know if they give refunds or if it's tacky to even ask?

Oh nevermind, I just reread the email: "This letter of encouragement applies only to those who have not yet submitted an application to our Law School."

What a blower. :(

Suffice to say, Minnesota's fee waiver policy is quite liberal. I listed all of my financials (including savings and investments), and I was still granted the $75 waiver.

Anyone have any success in submitting the Georgetown waiver? It seems you have to submit it before sending in your app. And a decision on the waiver takes approx 2 weeks. But I notice you have to submit parents income, so I'm thinking this might only be a waste of 2 weeks for me.

I noticed the same and decided to send my app without it. It may take less than 2 weeks but I called the office to try and expedite and my reception didn't give me the warm and fuzzies. Decided I would be better off not waiting 2 more weeks.

I solicited and received from Ohio State when I got my score back. I also solicited but heard no reply from Cornell and Indiana.

Are any of the December LSAT takers waiting for fee waivers before sending in apps? I'm anxious to apply since it's so late in the cycle, but it would be really helpful to save a few hundred dollars. Do you think they have hidden fee waivers available now?

I emailed a couple of schools yesterday and requested a waiver.

I heard back from one school this morning.

Give it a shot if you can't wait.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
