WL'd at Columbia. Well, "reserve." They begin deliberations at the end of May.
Whatever. No one likes you anyway, CLS.

Dad is light skinnededed black
Mom is reallllly white.
Also, I just wanted to clarify for those still waiting: I was WLd, not held. They won't deliberate on my app until the end of May. Make sure you read your letters carefully.

Looks like they're going back to reserves* this week; we better hope to not hear anything then. Unless next week is rejection week. uh oh.

Woops
Although at this point I'm not sure if Columbia actually accepts people. That might just be a myth.

Nah, all kidding from earlier aside: Columbia is a fantastic school and my GPA probably wasn't where they wanted it. I think it was a legitimate WL. It happens.summertimechi wrote:![]()

In today.. anyone know what the Hamilton/Butler letter looks like? Is it an additional letter behind the main acceptance letter? I guess I got no moneyz from them.

My acceptance letter mentions the Butler, then there is a separate letter in the same package explaining the fellowship.KP429 wrote:In today.. anyone know what the Hamilton/Butler letter looks like? Is it an additional letter behind the main acceptance letter? I guess I got no moneyz from them.
Dunno if it's the same for the Hammy.

Well, then. Guess Columbia didn't like me that much. Maybe I should call tomorrow and try to negotiate. Otherwise, it's officially decision time.

Congrats, KP! When did you go complete? I've been waiting since Thanksgiving for those good-for-nothing deadbeat CLS snobs to get around to me.KP429 wrote:In today.. anyone know what the Hamilton/Butler letter looks like? Thanks... when did you apply/go complete? It seems like applying early really matters with a 4.2-4.3 range.cameltaur wrote:I'm a 4.3 and I was admitted, so you have a chance...daisyduck wrote:That, and all the other held-despite-excellent-numbers are heartbreaking.el guapo wrote:My index is 4.7. I was held. I have had a much rougher cycle than I expected. Studied very hard for the lsat and did very well. Good gpa. I believe my ps was very good as well; it cannot have hindered me, in my opinion. My lack of a traditional academic/career path has seemingly hurt me significantly.
If a 4.7 is getting held, what chance does a 4.3 have? *tear*

I was 4.3 and applied late Nov. Didn't go complete until 1/8. It seems like I was one of the last people to hear about a decision and frankly, I will probably withdraw shortly.

ok, congratulations to all of you accepted
but honestly? what the hell? i've been complete since 11/20 and have heard nothing...
not that i'm expecting an acceptance but they could at least send a prompt rejection.

+1
I just emailed them today - basically a WTF, I know I'm annoying as hell but seriously what are you doing up there on Amsterdam Street (only in a polite, humble, please-accept-me kind of way) - So we'll see if that changes anything. Probably not.
I'm going up to NYC for the NYU Admitted weekend, and I'd really like to know before I get up there if I can hop on the uptown train and check out CLS (unlikely).

Congrats Bermuda, that's great! Definitely gives me hope, since I was mid-late January with fairly similar numbers. Are you URM or great softs?bermuda wrote:Surprising acceptance by mail yesterday…sent early January. Best of luck to everyone else!
